Private Email, on a Mailcow server of your own.

Private Email is Mailcow, the open-source mail server, deployed from a Mailcow image onto a virtual server for one organisation and its domains. Noiz runs the server, the mail software, its backups and support as one managed service, quoted for each deployment.

Why it matters

Mail is too important to share a server with websites.

Email is how clients, suppliers and banks reach you, and it is a favourite target for attackers. On shared mail, your messages leave from the same servers as everyone else's. If another sender gets those servers blocklisted, your mail can be delayed or refused through no fault of yours.

Shared mail also lives beside websites. A website under attack, a runaway script or maintenance on the web platform can slow or stop mail too. The email included with a hosting plan suits light, everyday use; Private Email is for an organisation whose mail has become too important, too large or too busy to share.

Email on a hosting plan stays included, and nobody has to move. The email hosting page sets the two side by side.

Benefits

What a server of your own changes.

The things a single-tenant mail server gives an organisation that shared mail cannot.

01

Your own IP address for sending

Your mail leaves from an address only your domains use, so its reputation rests on your own sending, not on what another customer sends.

02

Isolation

No other organisation is on the server. Another customer's compromised mailbox, spam run or traffic spike cannot reach your mail.

03

Mail apart from websites

Your mail runs apart from the web hosting platform, so a busy or broken website, or maintenance on web servers, does not take your mail with it.

04

Your data on its own

Your mail is not stored alongside anyone else's, on a server that holds only your organisation's mailboxes.

05

Room to grow

Several domains and many mailboxes for one organisation on one server, with mail storage added in whole blocks as your mail grows.

06

Limits set for you

Mailbox sizes, attachment sizes and sending limits are set for your organisation, not inherited from a shared hosting plan.

What is managed

The server and Mailcow, as one service.

Every native Mailcow feature is part of Private Email, on a server sized for the whole of Mailcow, so no security or search feature is switched off to save resources.

Mailcow includes

  • Webmail with calendars and contacts, synced to phones and computers over CalDAV and CardDAV
  • IMAP and SMTP for any standard mail app
  • Spam filtering that learns from your mail, and virus scanning
  • A quarantine for held messages, so nothing suspect is lost
  • Two-factor authentication for your users
  • DKIM signing, with SPF and DMARC records set up for your domains
  • Several domains, mailboxes and aliases on one server
  • Sync jobs that bring mail across from another server

What Noiz runs

The server and the mail software

  • The operating system and Mailcow, kept up to date
  • Monitoring, resource checks and mail-flow checks
  • DNS and authentication records, and investigation of delivery faults
  • Daily backups kept off the server, and a copy before every change
  • Triage, and recovery from the most recent usable backup
  • Recovery checked when the server is set up

What you run

Your users and your mail

  • Adding and removing users, mailboxes and aliases in the Mailcow administration interface
  • Your own devices and mail apps
  • What you send, and to whom

Help with individual devices, marketing advice, rebuilding a server when no usable backup exists, and bulk or high-volume sending are outside the service and scoped separately.

How it works

From your first message to mail on its own server.

Nothing is ordered until you accept the quote, and no mail moves until the server is ready.

  3. BuildWe deploy your server from a Mailcow image, harden it, set up your domains' records and check recovery before any mail moves.
  4. MoveExisting mail is brought across as the quote sets out, and DNS is switched once the server is ready.
  5. RunNoiz runs the server and Mailcow; you manage your users and mailboxes. Billed monthly, cancel at renewal.

Price

Quoted for each deployment.

No two organisations hold the same mail, so Private Email has no price list and no tiers. The quote names the server, the storage and the monthly figure.

Private Email

Quoted

One monthly price for the virtual server, Mailcow, its mail storage, management, backups and support. Every Mailcow feature is included; nothing is sold as a paid extra tier.

One deployment serves one organisation and its domains. An agency orders a separate deployment for each named client.

Without management

Prefer to run Mailcow yourself?

You can run Mailcow on a Noiz Cloud server without Private Email. One-click images for Cloud are coming soon; for now, install Mailcow over SSH following its own documentation, or Noiz installs it for you, quoted. Updates, backups and deliverability are then yours.

No VAT added: the price quoted is the price you pay.
